Petrol or diesel - what will your car run on in the future?

The purchase of an automobile is never an easy thing for anyone. The first car, a family car, a city car, a car you will use to take longer trips with, a car that demonstrates status, etc. Motives vary, but the amount of excitement felt is always the same - lots! And there are always loads of questions.

One of the greatest and initial dilemmas of those who plan to become new car owners has for decades now been: petrol or diesel?

We are opening up a new, historic chapter

By all accounts, this dilemma will be permanently resolved for all of us in the near future! You’re asking yourself: to whose advantage? To the advantage of something completely new - hybrid or electric vehicles.
These days, the European Parliament has given its final approval for the mandatory application of zero emission rates on all new cars and vans, as soon as the year 2035. What does this mean in practical terms? It means that in 12 years we will all be closing one and opening up a new chapter in automotive history. Auto dealerships will have only hybrid and electric cars on offer, because in addition to the pleasure we derive from driving, the print we leave (DON’T leave, that is) on our environment is equally important.

Read our blog to find out whether a hybrid or an electric car (EV) is for you.

The future is already here

Luckily, we will not enter into 2035 ill-prepared or without the required knowledge. The sale of EVs, both hybrids and electric cars in 2022 increased in Europe to up to as much as 30%, which means that every seventh new car purchased is environmentally friendly. Norway is in the lead here, where, believe it or not, 80% of vehicles sold are equipped with an electric motor.
In our country, percentage-wise, there are very few hybrid and EV drivers, but since 2020, the sale of EVs has increased annually by up to 100%.

And, where are you in all this?

If you are thinking about changing cars in the coming period (and all of us, sooner or later, are in a situation where this becomes a priority topic), count to 12 and you will understand that 12 years, when the EU Parliament’s decision enters into force, is not that long a period, and that it would be a good idea to enter into the future fully prepared. What’s more, Europe is already making great strides in getting rid of eco-ballast diesel and petrol engines, so these environmentally unpopular used vehicles will soon be on our streets and will directly affect the quality of the air we breathe. Do we really want this to happen?

Environmental-orientation when purchasing a car, quite justifiably, must become our practice. ProCredit Bank has a special car loan available for the purchase of Hyundai environmentally-friendly automobiles, which may open the door for you in the coming period to leap quietly and emissions-free into the eco-future with your very own new vehicle.

Good luck!
